Members of the Lafourche Heritage Society will offer their assistance in researching family histories at noon Tuesdays at the Thibodaux Library, 314 St. Mary St. To register for this service, call the library at 447-4119. This program is free and open to the public.
Basic tax services are available for free to low-income families — $48,000 or less — through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program beginning this month at the Larose Branch Library, 305 E. Fifth St. The service is available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only. To make an appointment, call the library at 693-3336. Participants should bring photo identification, a Social Security card for each member in the household, proof of income, and W-2 forms.
